Being a part of almost every PSNtv show helped me get a wider idea of what avenues of journalism and production we were already covering. Hoping to lead a show of my own one day, I figured the best option was to create an idea from scratch. Beginning in Fall 2023. Executive Producers Luke Foehrkolb Eliza Casey, and I met weekly to build the blueprints for a unique take on gameshows. My goal was to have contestants on the show come from outside the College of Communications. This would improve network visibility, and club relations, and ultimately prove to be a fun event other student societies and organizations wouldn't otherwise be able to be a part of, leading to some SERIOUS passive publicity!
Beginning in the Spring of 2024, Luke and I began our bi-weekly production schedule, creating the first season of GAMESHOW 101. I intentionally invited underclassmen to be part of the core crew of the project in hopes they would have an interest in continuing the series long after I've moved on.

While my goal was to get our show beyond the walls of the college, it didn't hurt to get our name out there to the other shows so students in PSNtv could determine if GAMESHOW 101 was their cup of tea. Additionally, having a rapport with the contestants long before you've agreed to be recorded in a room together helps the banter flow smoothly.
And if you'd like you can watch our first published episode. Aired on January 30th. This was a great first step in getting the show out and into the lives of opposite walks of life, even within our campus. These Acapella groups were so shocked to see a facility like the Media Center and the many shows and classes that utilize it.
