2024

As the Inaugural Ceremony's Tech Chair and Director of Ceremony, it felt natural for me to lead the 2024 Awards Committee and give the network the best chance of replicating what we accomplished in 2023 to hold a 2nd Annual PSNtv Awards.
Check out my LinkedIn Post accrediting the team that made the ceremony possible.
This year we modified the ceremony to be judged by a panel of the College's faculty, alumni, and even Dean Marie Hardin.
It was extra special because, for the first time, Luke Foehrkolb and I had some skin in the game with our newly admitted GAMESHOW 101. The series was in the running for a few of the categories and ended up taking home Best Original Content (Pictured) and Best Set Design.
Below I've timestamped our win for best original content. Feel free to scroll around and watch the rest of the back half of the awards ceremony. I'd love to share the full event but our SD cards weren't formatted properly for the record deck until after intermission. Lessons to learn from.
The event was live-streamed to 270 unique viewers, and the in-person event tallied 141 tickets sold.
I also borrowed some skills (and equipment) from CommAgency Live Production in building an integrated three-camera setup to keep the stream fresh, with an SDI loop of the presentation as a switcher input to take fullscreen.
Additionally, I exercised some liberties as treasurer in gifting the network three sets of cell phone-friendly videography kits to help with out-of-studio recording.

Jake received Best Editor this evening on behalf of the show.

2023
PSNtv's President for the 2022-23 academic year Simone Skinner set her sights high, and an awards ceremony was the perfect bang to go out on. Being selected as her tech chair, we began organizing an impressive two-hour celebration of the finest examples our network had to offer. Hosted in the State Theater, we filled the theater with club members, applause, and even attempted a two-camera live-stream to give the viewers at home a platform to cheer on their favorites.
Scrapping together rental cameras, a Blackmagic media encoder, two laptops, and a VERY large PowerPoint presentation, the awards show could finally begin.
Below is the day-of-events schedule which, thanks to Simone, made directing the ceremony a breeze.
